An
excellent opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified, enthusiastic
General Practitioners to work in the provider unit of the PCT in Barnsley.
Barnsley PCT is one of the largest PCT's in the country, with
a £100 million provider unit the PCT has over 2000 employed
and seconded staff providing health and social care, mental health
and adult services.
As
part of provider services we also have a PCTMS practice located within
the central locality covering Barnsley town centre radius.
Barnsley has good motorway and rail transport links and is within
easy travelling distance of neighbouring towns and cities such as
Sheffield, Leeds, Doncaster and Rotherham.
Full
time and part time salaried posts are available, both working in the
PCTMS practice and in the wider area of Barnsley. Your role
will be to provide general medical/primary care services to the registered
populations.
Work
with the PCTMS practice will include close working with the management
team in supporting and developing the provision of primary care services
to the local population. Within the PCTMS practice there is
already an established, enthusiastic Primary Health Care team consisting
of a Practice Manager, Receptionist / Secretaries, Practice Nurse
and Health Care Assistant.
The
successful candidates will have excellent communication skills including
computer skills and be able to work effectively within a team.
Experience of working with chronic disease and knowledge of the GMS
Contract would be advantageous. There will also be allocated
time for your continuing professional and personal development.
